Join our team as a OO4 Community Engagement Ranger at Rainbow Beach and help connect visitors and communities with QLD'S unique coastal environments. This hands-on role combines visitor engagement, customer service, sales, and the development of communication materials to support conservation and recreation outcomes.

The successful applicant will bring experience in staff supervision, workplace health and safety, natural resource management, and visitor compliance. Strong communication skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to work effectively in a team are essential.

The role includes regular compliance patrols in high-use recreation areas such as Cooloola and Inskip Peninsula. Flexibility to work weekends and public holidays is required. Make a difference by helping protect Queensland’s coastal treasures while promoting safe and enjoyable visitor experiences.

In this role, you'll play a key role in driving the protection of one of our most wonderful places.

The OO4 Community Engagement Ranger position, based at Rainbow Beach, plays a key role in delivering public contact and community engagement initiatives across local and regional communities. The position is responsible for implementing a range of engagement projects, including face-to-face visitor interactions, over-the-counter sales and customer service, and the development of print and web-based
communication products.

The successful applicant will demonstrate experience in staff supervision, workplace health and safety, natural resource management, visitor management and compliance, and infrastructure development and maintenance. Strong communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment are essential.

Cooloola Recreation Area and Inskip Peninsula Recreation Area are high-visitation destinations that attract significant numbers of visitors throughout the year. As a result, the role involves regular visitor compliance patrols, community engagement activities, and customer service responsibilities. Applicants should be prepared to work weekends, public holidays, and school holiday periods as part of a rostered arrangement.
