Your role within Social and Affordable Housing Growth will support the department to deliver enhanced housing outcomes through an integrated, whole-of-supply approach. The work you do will have a tangible, daily impact—helping provide safe, secure and appropriate housing for Queenslanders.

Housing Growth is responsible for influencing and delivering contemporary housing solutions that meet client and community needs, while supporting jobs and economic outcomes across Queensland. This includes planning, designing, procuring and contracting housing delivery to ensure homes remain safe, secure and fit-for-purpose.

The Manager, Social Housing Capital Delivery works collaboratively with the Director, Capital Delivery, leading a high-performing team while also directly contributing to project and program delivery. The role partners with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver a capital works program critical to achieving the department's strategic objectives.

You and your team will manage delivery partners and work closely with business areas to ensure capital works programs and projects are delivered on time, on budget and to specification, supported by accurate and timely reporting.

What you will be doing:

  • Managing, monitoring and reporting on a portfolio of complex capital works projects in a professional, timely and effective manner.
  • Developing, implementing and overseeing program management plans, budget frameworks and quality improvement initiatives to support successful program delivery.
  • Providing expert advice to senior executives on construction, contract management and program performance, and supporting clients in defining capital programs, facility requirements and planning strategies.
  • Driving innovation and continuous improvement in program management practices, including communication, engagement and reporting approaches.
  • Managing relationships with internal stakeholders, delivery partners and contractors (including QBuild and external providers) to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to agreed specifications.
  • Preparing high-quality reports, submissions, briefs and correspondence relating to governance and delivery of department-led social housing programs.
  • Supporting and promoting a strong workplace health and safety culture, ensuring Workplace Health and Safety policies and practices are embedded in day-to-day operations.
