From iconic bridges and major culverts to pedestrian walkways and large traffic management structures, you'll lead a specialist team delivering critical inspections that keep communities connected and safe. RoadTek is a commercial business within the Department of Transport and Main Roads. We provide transport infrastructure solutions for projects across Queensland. Some of your responsibilities will include;
• Lead and supervise a team of Inspectors (Structures), ensuring high standards of safety, quality assurance, environmental management and inspection data integrity.
• Plan and coordinate structural inspection programs, resources and contractors, while supporting project planning, scheduling and tender estimation activities.
• Undertake and review inspections of bridges, culverts and other transport structures, ensuring compliance with TMR standards, governance requirements and contractual obligations.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and professional development to build capability, support accreditation and enhance workforce performance.
• Drive innovation and stakeholder engagement by promoting new technologies, delivering technical advice, improving inspection practices and supporting informed asset management decisions.

Requirements of the role:
• Provide strong leadership and strategic direction, setting priorities, supporting informed decision-making and fostering a safe, inclusive and high-performing team culture.
• Apply sound governance and project management practices, effectively managing resources, risks and project delivery to achieve organisational and operational outcomes.
• Demonstrate expertise in safety, risk management and compliance, guiding others to implement legislative requirements, policies and best-practice standards.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• The recommended applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical as part of our selection process for this role.
• TMR has a Drug and Alcohol Policy which applies to all Employees, Workers and Visitors to TMR workplaces. This may include random, post incident and reasonable suspicion testing during employment to ensure a safe and healthy workplace.
• You may be required to travel to other locations to undertake activities for varying periods of time. You will be entitled to expenses and allowances for such travel.
• Significant previous experience in either structures inspections, maintenance or construction.
• Either holds or has the ability to attain, full accreditation in Level 2 TMR SIAT within 6 months of commencement. Categories are, Concrete, Timber, Steel, Large Traffic Management Signs (LTMS).
• Highly developed mentoring / leadership experience.
• Applicants must possess a current, valid Queensland "C" class driver's licence or equivalent.
• A reasonable amount of travel within the State will be required.
• Possession of a White Card (Construction Induction).
• Demonstrated competence in using a variety of software applications and complex technologies.
