Senior Management Accountant


Brisbane

QRIDA is seeking an experienced and proven performer for the role of Senior Management Accountant who will provide the Board and management with timely information for effective decision making in a cost-effective manner, to assist the organisation in providing support to primary producers, small business and not for profit entities. You will also be responsible for the development and management of QRIDA's budget, including providing advice on resource allocation, monitoring cost centre, scheme performance and monthly reporting to the Board. Ensure accuracy, compliance with legislation, standards and policies with regard to budget development and monthly management reporting. As the Senior Management Accountant your responsibilities and duties will cover a wide range including providing analysis and advice on organisational and business unit financial and budgetary performance and financial management; including the preparation of content for the monthly business report to undertaking complex research activities and prepare submissions, reports and briefing materials for high level advice to senior officers and forums on management issues and budget development.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide advice on the development, implementation and ongoing operations of budget management and performance including capital projects and business case submissions;
  • Contribute to the financial management requirements of the annual State Budget for the preparation of the Budget papers, Annual Report, briefing notes to the Minister and the Estimates Committee hearing;
  • Contribute towards the effective management of the business unit's resources and information in accordance with QRIDA's governance and policy frameworks, including but not limited to risk management, workplace health and safety and records management;
  • Demonstrated skills to produce monthly management reports in accordance with Queensland Government legislation, standards and policies;
  • Well-developed people management skills including sharing knowledge through coaching and providing feedback in a collaborative manner;

The Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA) is a specialist provider of government financial and advisory support to rural and regional Queensland.

As a statutory body of the Queensland Government we have been helping primary producers and industry recover from natural disaster, improve sustainability and profitability, make a start in business, and overcome difficult conditions, for over 30 years.

As the Queensland Government's experts in rural finance, we also administer the State Government's Farm Business Debt Mediation program, the Farm Debt Reconstruction Office, conduct a biennial Rural Debt Survey, undertake research and provide advice to the Minister for Agricultural Industry Development and Fisheries and Minister for Rural Communities.

QRIDA is empowered under the Rural and Regional Adjustment Act 1994 to deliver additional programs and services across a range of industry sectors and to local, state and territory governments throughout Australia and for the Australian Government.
