The Manager (Finance) supports the Director (Finance and Performance) in shaping financial strategy, performance insight and governance across Rail Division. Operating at the centre of a large and complex infrastructure program, the role supports executive decision-making by providing high-quality financial information, analysis and assurance across multiple programs and business areas.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Lead the coordination and quality assurance of divisional budgets, forecasts and financial and performance reporting, ensuring accurate and timely outputs aligned with divisional, portfolio and corporate requirements.
• Provide high-quality financial analysis and strategic advice to the Director (Finance and Performance) and stakeholders, identifying risks, issues and opportunities, and recommending practical solutions to support informed decisionmaking.
• Lead and maintain financial governance, compliance and control frameworks across the Division, ensuring consistent application of policies, procedures and standards, and proactively identifying and escalating financial risks and issues.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with corporate finance, program and project teams and stakeholders to support delivery outcomes, resolve issues and influence sound financial management practices.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across financial processes, systems and reporting frameworks, through automation, data analytics and enhanced use of systems, reducing manual effort.
• Lead and develop Finance staff across the Division, fostering capability development and a high-performing, collaborative team environment.

Mandatory qualifications and conditions: Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role. A formal relevant tertiary qualification in finance/accounting - highly desirable.
Requirements of the role:
To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
• Demonstrated ability to deliver financial management functions in a complex environment, supporting strategic decision-making through high-quality analysis, coordination and operational leadership.
• Strong experience in budget coordination, forecasting and financial management processes, including consolidation of inputs and preparation of supporting analysis within a large organisation.
• Proven capability in preparing and assuring financial and performance reporting, including interpreting financial data and providing clear, practical insights to stakeholders.
• Sound knowledge of financial governance, compliance and internal control frameworks, with the ability to implement and monitor effective practices across teams.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build capability, foster collaboration and influence sound financial decision-making.
• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement through practical solutions that enhance efficiency, consistency and financial insight.
