About the role
As the Ranger (Asset Coordinator), you will coordinate Central Region's annual asset maintenance program, managing approximately $900,000 in maintenance investment across visitor and operational infrastructure. Your work will help ensure assets remain safe, functional and sustainable for staff, visitors and the community.

Working closely with Rangers, Asset Rangers, the statewide Asset Services team and external contractors, you will provide leadership and support for regional asset management activities. You will coordinate maintenance programs, monitor performance and expenditure, manage contracts, and help improve asset management processes across the region.

Key responsibilities include:
* Coordinating the delivery of the regional asset maintenance program.
* Planning, monitoring and reporting on maintenance activities and expenditure.
* Providing advice and support to Rangers on asset management and maintenance planning.
* Supporting the effective use of the department's asset management system (Loc8).
* Managing maintenance contracts and contractor relationships.
* Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance program delivery.
* Contributing to capital works and other regional priority projects where required.

This role does not have direct supervisory responsibilities; however, it requires strong stakeholder engagement and the ability to manage contracts and work collaboratively across a diverse region.

The position is primarily Monday to Friday, although occasional weekend work may be required.

About you
You must be organised, practical and able to manage competing priorities. You enjoy building relationships, solving problems and delivering outcomes that support the effective management of infrastructure and assets.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Strong organisational, planning and coordination skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience in asset management, maintenance coordination, procurement, contract administration or related fields.
* The ability to work independently and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders.
* A practical approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
* A reasonable level of fitness and willingness to work in outdoor environments when required.

Highly desirable
* Current White Card for Construction.
* Experience in construction, infrastructure maintenance or asset management.
* Experience managing small to medium-scale construction or maintenance projects.
* Knowledge of procurement, contractor management and contract administration.

Why join us?
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to Queensland's parks and protected areas while developing your skills in asset management, contract administration and regional program coordination. You will work with a supportive team and help maintain the infrastructure that enables people to safely enjoy and connect with Queensland's unique natural and cultural heritage.

If this sounds like the role for you, we'd love to hear from you.

Applications will remain current for 12 months.
