The core capability requirements for this role are:

  • Adherence to QPS agreed software testing practice.
  • Understanding and working to product test plans to ensure the delivered solution meets the requirements and deliverables of the customer.
  • Assisting in the development and completion of manual and automated test plans.
  • Liaise regularly with cross functional team to effectively plan and execute testing activities within agreed time frames.
  • Identifying testing requirement scenarios.
  • Reviewing and self-assessing test coverage ensuring traceability, quality assurance and quality completeness for own and others work.

Role Requirements:

The following qualification is highly desirable:

  • ISTQB Certification

Highly Desirable

  • Substantial professional software or test development experience
  • Working knowledge of test recording tools (such as Azure DevOps, Atlassian Jira) in a business setting including requirement traceability, test lab setup and tool reporting
  • Knowledge of programming and design in .NET, Java and Python
  • Substantial knowledge of at least one, self-nominated area of technical expertise
  • Knowledge of Windows Server, MS SQL, Networking principles, Data Integrity and system architecture knowledge
    Leadership stream
  • Test automation experience including tools (TestComplete, Postman, SoapUI, ReadyAPI)
  • Experience providing product showcases to internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience writing BDD test scripts and test cases

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of, or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of, QPS Information Systems in support of Emergency Services in Queensland including QPRIME, QCAD and other applications used throughout QPS
  • Knowledge of, or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of, technologies or platforms including Azure, AWS, HTML5 and Selenium
  • An understanding of testing in the context of ICT as a service

Other:

This position may be required to perform some duties outside of normal business hours including:

  • Overtime
