The Office of the Deputy Director-General is the central office of the Justice Policy and Reform Division, which leads the Department of Justice's policy, legislative and reform agenda across six branches.
As Director, you will manage the office and provide expert, comprehensive and timely advice to the Deputy Director-General on the issues affecting the department's strategic objectives. You will lead a small team, take carriage of projects of a complex or sensitive nature, and represent the Deputy Director-General across government.
The role suits an experienced senior officer with strong analytical and written skills, sound judgement, and the ability to build effective relationships at senior levels.

Justice Policy and Reform
As the Director, Office of the Deputy Director-General, Justice Policy and Reform (ODDG JPR), you are responsible for managing the Office of the Deputy Director-General and providing expert, comprehensive and timely advice to the Deputy Director-General on key issues impacting the department's strategic objectives.
Your key responsibilities
- Manage the Office of the Deputy Director-General, Justice Policy and Reform and provide expert, comprehensive and timely strategic advice and support to the Deputy Director-General on key issues.
- Undertake projects of a complex or sensitive nature as assigned by the Deputy Director-General and other duties as directed.
- Ensure the delivery of quality, timely, informed and strategic advice to the Attorney-General, Director-General and senior officers on justice policy issues.
- Represent the Deputy Director-General at internal and external forums, building strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee the management of the divisional budget and provide accurate advice on budget performance to the Deputy Director-General, senior management and departmental officers.
- Establish and develop networks and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the effective and efficient implementation of solutions through appropriate change management strategies.
