As Service Leader, you will specifically:

• Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• Provide supervision to a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the delivery of high-quality restorative justice services in accordance with relevant legislative provisions, strategic priorities, statutory delegations, departmental policies, procedures, contemporary best practice and within a restorative justice framework.
• Allocate, prioritise and quality assure restorative justice activities in accordance with departmental procedures and statutory delegations.
• Provide timely advice and assistance on complex matters to ensure the delivery of quality restorative justice practices.
• Develop collaborative, professional relationships with relevant government and non-government agencies to ensure informed, integrated and holistic youth justice service delivery.
• Actively participate in and, where appropriate, lead local area forums with government and non-government stakeholders, providing education and information on restorative justice conferencing services.
• Assist in identifying trends and issues in client service delivery and evaluating client outcomes, including performance reporting, to ensure coordinated local service delivery.
• Ensure appropriate workforce development including undertaking relevant recruitment, selection, and providing ongoing professional development and culturally appropriate supervision and leadership to staff.
• Contribute to a departmental culture that ensures sensitive and effective communication with people from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander backgrounds as well as an appreciation of cultural protocols and an awareness of the impacts of historical policies and practices.
