The Engagement and Diversion Program is Queensland’s counter violent extremism program and delivers the Commonwealth National Support and Intervention Program (NSIP). The NSIP has been implemented to build resilient communities and take action against violent extremism.

You will assist in making Queensland communities safe from violent extremism by developing high level strategic intelligence and analytical reports for QPS management and the Commonwealth. You will contribute to the EDP BAU, countering violent extremism assessments and contribute to the EDP intelligence capability.

You will assist in making Queensland communities safe from violent extremism by developing high level strategic intelligence and analytical reports for QPS management and the Commonwealth. You will contribute to the EDP BAU, countering violent extremism assessments and contribute to the EDP intelligence capability.

The core capability requirements for this role are:

• Provide direction and assist in driving the QPS Strategic Plan through the provision of intelligence services to Commands and Regions in the assessment of problem places, cases and issues.
• Provide high level analytical advice and support to QPS officers in relation to targeting strategies.
• Plan and prepare complex intelligence assessments in relation to crime and other community safety matters utilising accepted intelligence processes.
• Establish and maintain effective networks within the QPS and with external partners and stakeholders.
• Develop and implement effective work practices with a focus on continuous improvement.  
• May be required to provide supervision and direction to other staff members.

A knowledge of online intelligence collection techniques will be highly regarded.

The successful applicant may be required to undergo psychometric assessment prior to appointment.

Applicants are advised that whilst performing the duties of the position they may be exposed to material (written, visual and audio) of a graphic and sensitive nature.

Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance to the minimal level of Negative Vetting Level 1.

The successful applicant/s must undertake intelligence training delivered by the Queensland Police Service in line with current policy.

Shift work may be a requirement of this role, including afternoons, weekends and nights.
