Senior Finance Officer

Do you enjoy solving complex financial problems, improving business processes, and providing trusted advice that helps an organisation operate effectively? Join our Finance Policy & Operations team and play a key role in shaping financial governance across the Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation. You'll lead the department's corporate card and travel functions, provide expert financial advice, develop policies and training, and help ensure strong financial controls and compliance across a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce.

Your contribution
In this role, you will:
- Lead and manage the department's travel and corporate card programs.
- Provide expert advice on financial policies, compliance requirements and business processes.
- Analyse complex issues and develop practical solutions that improve financial systems and controls.
- Deliver training and support to staff across Queensland.
- Develop and review financial policies, procedures and guidance materials.
- Create insightful Power BI reports and dashboards that help stakeholders make better decisions and monitor organisational performance.
- Support end-of-year financial reporting and assurance activities.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and service delivery.
