As a Busway Shift Coordinator, you will supervise and coach our frontline Busway Operations team in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment. You will help coordinate responses to incidents, safety hazards, maintenance activities, special events and operational disruptions across Southeast Queensland’s Busway Network. Working closely with bus operators, emergency services, contractors and other stakeholders, you will support safe, reliable and accessible public transport services.

Busway Operations is responsible for the safe, secure, reliable, and efficient operation of Southeast Queensland's Busway Network. The team provides 24/7 operational oversight of busway infrastructure, stations and services, coordinating incident response, maintenance activities, contractor access, special events and operational disruptions to minimise impacts on customers and public transport services.

We work collaboratively with bus operators, emergency services, contractors, government agencies, and other stakeholders to maintain network safety, service reliability, and customer accessibility, the team ensures the busway network remains a safe and effective transport corridor for millions of passengers each year.

THE ROLE:
As a Busway Shift Coordinator, you will supervise the Busway Operations frontline teams' management of critical incidents, safety hazards, contractors, and maintenance programs to ensure incident-free operation of the Busway Network. It is a fast-paced operational environment in which you will work actively with a range of stakeholders including Bus Service Providers and Emergency Services to ensure the safety and security of the Busway and its users.

Some of your responsibilities will include:
• Lead and coach a team of Busway Safety employees, ensuring compliance with procedures, fostering a positive culture, and managing administrative tasks such as incident debriefs and staff rosters.
• Coordinate responses to incidents on the Busway network, ensuring alignment with best practices, risk management policies, and the impact on public transport operations.
• Manage the operational response for Special Events, overseeing the effects on the Busway and public transport, and implementing strategies for continuity and efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement by investigating and evaluating incident responses, and updating policies, procedures, and operational frameworks accordingly.
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, manage performance and ethical standards within the team, and ensure a safe workplace in compliance with health, safety, and TMR policies

Mandatory qualifications and conditions
• Hold a current unrestricted Australian ‘C' class driver's license.
• Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
• Undertake and pass an online cognitive ability assessment.
• The role is required to work 4 x 9.5 hour shifts each week which may include nights, weekends, and public holidays
