Lead the delivery of infrastructure that supports Queensland communities. QBuild is Queensland Government's trusted builder, delivering planning, construction, maintenance and disaster response services across the state. Our work supports schools, hospitals, housing, emergency services facilities and other essential government infrastructure that helps Queenslanders every day.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Program Manager to lead the successful delivery of capital works programs across QBuild's operations. This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing complex building and construction projects, ensuring outcomes are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with customer expectations for time, cost, quality and value for money.

What you'll do
In this role, you will:

  • Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of capital works programs and projects across a diverse portfolio.
  • Manage project performance to ensure delivery against agreed objectives, budgets, schedules and quality standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, industry partners and key stakeholders to support successful program outcomes.
  • Lead, mentor and develop project management teams, fostering a high-performance and customer-focused culture.
  • Oversee the effective allocation and utilisation of financial, technical and human resources.
  • Apply sound financial, risk management and reporting practices to support informed decision-making.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement by identifying and implementing more effective construction and delivery solutions.
  • Contribute to business planning, operational performance, service improvement initiatives and strategic objectives.
  • Champion change, collaboration and excellence across teams and projects.
  • Support senior leadership in achieving departmental commitments and delivering value to government and the community.

What we're looking for
You will be a capable and experienced leader with a strong background in project or program management within a complex construction, infrastructure, engineering or property environment.

To succeed in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • Proven experience managing large-scale projects or programs in a complex organisation.
  • Strong leadership capability with experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
  • Sound commercial, financial and risk management expertise.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
  • A focus on customer service, continuous improvement and delivering quality outcomes.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining strategic oversight.
