Senior Engagement Advisor

The Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Engagement Advisor to join the Stakeholder Relations team. This role is responsible for advancing the QBCC’s engagement priorities by fostering constructive relationships with government agencies, peak bodies, industry associations and internal teams. You will help ensure the QBCC’s engagement activities are purposeful, coordinated and aligned with broader organisational objectives.

About the role

In this role, you will champion the QBCC's Engagement Framework and support its consistent application across external and internal audiences. You will design and deliver targeted engagement plans, cultivate meaningful partnerships, and contribute to initiatives that strengthen the QBCC's strategic presence across the building and construction sector.

A key component of the role involves supporting the Principal Engagement Advisor in implementing the Strategic Engagement Framework, including training staff in Brisbane and regional offices on recording engagement activities. You will also play an important part in analysing and reporting on stakeholder engagement trends to inform decision‑making and drive continuous improvement.

About you

You are an accomplished engagement practitioner with strong communication, negotiation and relationship‑building capability. You excel at interpreting complex issues, adapting your communication style to diverse audiences and aligning operational activity with long‑term strategic goals.

You build rapport with ease; anticipate stakeholder needs and manage sensitive or high‑impact interactions with professionalism. Your experience includes developing engagement plans, profiling stakeholders, presenting to varied audiences and working within government, regulatory or industry environments. You bring analytical strength and confidence in monitoring and reporting on engagement outcomes.

Qualifications in engagement (such as IAP2) are desirable but not essential.
