Cabinet and Parliamentary Services plays a central role in supporting Queensland Government decision-making. The team provides secretariat services for Cabinet and Cabinet Committee meetings, supports the Premier and Director-General on Cabinet and parliamentary matters, coordinates Community Cabinet and regional visits, and delivers Cabinet Legislation and Liaison Officer services for the Department of the Premier and Cabinet. This is a unique opportunity to lead a team that works directly with central government processes and contributes to the effective operation of Cabinet. You will work with a diverse range of stakeholders across government and help shape the systems and processes that support informed decision-making at the highest levels.

How you'll contribute

As Manager, Cabinet Legislation and Liaison Officer team, you will lead a small team responsible for coordinating and supporting Queensland Cabinet processes and procedures. You will provide expert advice, guidance and training to agencies and stakeholders, ensuring Cabinet business is managed efficiently, confidentially and in accordance with established protocols.

You will also lead the review of Cabinet material, provide strategic advice on complex matters, oversee the preparation of briefing materials and correspondence, and drive continuous improvement of systems and processes that support Cabinet operations. Success in this role requires strong leadership, sound judgement, exceptional stakeholder management skills and the ability to deliver high-quality outcomes in a dynamic, high-profile environment.

What you'll bring to the role

You are a collaborative and capable leader with experience managing people, building productive relationships and delivering outcomes in complex operating environments. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to provide trusted advice on sensitive matters.

Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of, Cabinet and Cabinet Committee processes will be highly regarded. You are committed to continuous improvement and maintaining high standards of governance, accountability and service delivery.
