Your key accountabilities

The core capability requirements for this role are:

• Liaise with high profile clients (including Ministerial staff when required), building occupants and members of the general public to deliver consistent high-quality building services, including functioning as the primary client contact point for building maintenance and emergency repairs.
• Exercise functions and powers pursuant to Part 3 of the State Buildings Protective Security Act 1983 (Qld), in addition to carrying out the procedures and instructions outlined within the Protective Services Quality Procedures, and Manuals.
• In accordance with Australian Standards 3745 and the Building Fire Regulations 2008, coordinate training and provide direction in emergency procedures and building safety programs, such as the Occupant Emergency Program, including functioning as the Chief Warden.
• Review, develop and maintain procedures for general building security, and the safety of persons within the building, including controlling the entry of personnel to, and parking of vehicles in State Buildings in accordance with Section 18 of the State Buildings Protective Security Act 1983 (Qld).
• Review functionality effectiveness and operate computerised systems including a Building Management and Security System to provide reports on electrical, mechanical, fire, lift and security systems to contractors, Property Managers and tenants (including ministerial staff) as required.
• Develop and maintain a close liaison with clients (including ministerial staff), Building Managers, other Protective Services colleagues and QPS Staff, including participating as a member of the Building Management Committee, in order to ensure an optimum level of client satisfaction is maintained.
• Foster an equitable, fair, and customer focussed workplace by providing leadership, supervision and development to subordinate officers.
