The primary accountabilities of the Principal Solution Technology Officer include:
• Lead technical solution, design and implementation of Technology Solutions activities and outcomes across QCS by contributing to the solution designs, maintenance as per the QCS Solution Architecture Framework. Adhere to the framework to define and describe common solution components, patterns and practices for QCS' offender information systems
• Determine and advise on appropriate software development lifecycle and project management methodologies, approaches and behaviours to complement the approved solution design
• Provide advisory services to QCS business units and project teams in regard to ICT solutions to improve the return on ICT investments
• Maintain an awareness of emerging technologies and provide expert advice and services on how to use these technologies to meet business needs
• Review and interpret detailed business requirements to produce solution design artefacts which meet strategic and operational business needs and align with QCS' enterprise architecture
• Contribute towards applying the Queensland Government Enterprise Architecture Framework into QCS solution architectures and patterns
• Review proposals and advise senior executives, project teams and business units regarding offender information systems implementations and enhancements
• Contribute the QCS ICT strategies and enterprise architecture artefacts
• Provide content for, and manage solution architecture software and tools
