Do you have a passion for property, buildings and finding practical solutions that improve people's lives? Can you see yourself using your technical expertise to help ensure Queenslanders have access to safe, well-maintained housing?

As a Regional Property Asset Officer, you will play an important role in managing a diverse housing property portfolio that supports the delivery of housing and homelessness services across Queensland. The work you do behind the scenes has a real impact, helping ensure homes remain safe, functional and fit for purpose for the people who live in them.

In this role, you will combine technical knowledge, analytical thinking and relationship-building skills to support informed decisions about property maintenance, upgrades and long-term asset planning. You will inspect and assess buildings, identify risks and opportunities, develop property-related recommendations and provide trusted advice on asset management matters.

You can expect to:
• Conduct property inspections and building assessments across a diverse portfolio.
• Prepare reports and recommendations that support maintenance, upgrade and investment decisions.
• Help ensure maintenance works meet relevant building standards, regulations and safety requirements.
• Contribute to property condition audits and provide scopes of work for planned improvements.
• Provide advice on property asset management issues and portfolio priorities.
• Build productive relationships with colleagues, community representatives, service providers and other stakeholders.
• Represent the department in local forums and help foster positive partnerships that support housing outcomes.
• Champion a strong safety culture by embedding workplace health and safety into everyday activities.

We're looking for someone who enjoys working independently while collaborating with others, can confidently manage competing priorities and is committed to delivering high-quality outcomes. You will bring building industry knowledge, clear communication skills and a practical approach to problem-solving.

You may be a great fit if you:
• Adapt quickly to changing priorities and work environments.
• Build respectful and productive relationships with a wide range of people.
• Take ownership of your work and follow through on commitments.
• Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Have experience or knowledge of building products, construction practices, codes and standards.
• Demonstrate professionalism, integrity and cultural awareness in everything you do.

When you join us, you will become part of a team working to deliver housing solutions that make a genuine difference in communities across Queensland. You will have the opportunity to apply your property expertise in a role with purpose, contribute to better housing outcomes and help shape decisions that support the long-term sustainability of the department's housing assets.

If you're looking for a role where your technical skills, judgement and commitment to quality can create real community impact, we'd love to hear from you.

Applications to remain current for 12 months.
