Working in a small team of two, the Records Officers will manage documents and records for the CFMEU Commission of Inquiry (COI) in accordance with the Public Records Act 2023 and associated whole-of-government, departmental and COI policies, standards and guidelines.

The role also has responsibility for preparing, coordinating and managing the flow of information.

Key responsibilities:

  • Process digital and physical records including quality control and validation of records to ensure the maintenance of robust electronic document and records management systems for the Commission in accordance with the Public Records Act 2023 and relevant policies.
  • Coordinate and provide quality assurance of data stored in the Law in Order Relativity One database using a high level of attention to detail to accurately save, track, search and retrieve documents and records.
  • Perform system administrator function as required across various platforms in use by the Inquiry.
  • Maintain and promote strict confidentiality and privacy of information whilst accessing records and data information systems in accordance with the relevant policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the processing of responses to Notices, ensuring quality processes to enable all material is processed in a timely and accurate manner in a confidential and secure environment.
  • Provide induction training and ongoing support to new starters on the various electronic document records management systems in use by the Inquiry
  • Build and maintain positive communication channels and working relationships across a large multi-disciplinary team and stakeholders within COI and the host agency, the Department of Justice.
  • Support the broader work of the COI offering secretariat support and any other duties as required by the Secretary.
  • Model professional and ethical behaviour and act in accordance with the Queensland Public Sector legislative framework and the Code of Conduct
