The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the National Fire Ant Eradication Program through the delivery of high-quality facilities and asset management services.
As the Facilities Support Officer, you will help coordinate the delivery of facilities and asset management activities that support the Program's operational success. You'll work closely with contractors, service providers and internal stakeholders to ensure workplaces are safe, efficient and well maintained, while supporting accommodation planning, asset management, security access and workplace operations.
You'll have the opportunity to build strong stakeholder relationships, provide operational advice, support procurement and contract administration activities, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery across the Program.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement, and who thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. Working within a collaborative and supportive team, you'll play an important role in supporting business operations and enabling frontline teams to deliver critical outcomes for Queensland communities.
In this role, you will:
- Support a wide range of facilities and asset management activities, including maintenance requests, office relocations, workplace accommodation planning, site access and security management.
- Liaise with contractors, service providers, property managers and internal stakeholders to ensure facilities issues are resolved efficiently and services are delivered to a high standard.
- Maintain asset registers, facilities records and administrative systems to support compliance, reporting and effective asset management practices.
- Support procurement and contract administration processes, including raising purchase requests and monitoring service delivery outcomes.
- Provide practical advice and support to staff on facilities and asset management policies, procedures and requirements.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while working collaboratively across teams to deliver reliable and responsive business support.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is organised, customer-focused and enjoys working in a hands-on operational environment. You'll be a strong communicator with a keen eye for detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and a commitment to providing reliable facilities and asset support. Experience in facilities, asset management or operational support services will be highly regarded.
Essential requirements:
- Current C class driver's licence.
- Ability to safely lift and move items up to 20kg.
Desirable:
- Forklift licence.
