This temporary full-time opportunity until 26 March 2027 offers flexible work options, including the ability to work from regional offices and access flexible work arrangement, supporting a balanced and adaptable working environment.
About the role
As the Senior Trust Compliance Officer, you will contribute to the effective regulation of trust accounts by assessing compliance, reviewing financial material and supporting regulatory decision-making. You will apply sound investigative judgement to identify issues, manage evidence appropriately and prepare documentation that informs enforcement actions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Auditing trust accounts to confirm adherence to legislative requirements.
- Analysing financial data to detect irregularities or emerging concerns.
- Investigating suspected non-compliance using structured investigative approaches.
- Managing evidence in accordance with chain‑of‑custody and information security standards.
- Conducting formal interviews to obtain accurate and reliable information.
- Preparing case documentation including reports, notices and records that support regulatory outcomes.
- Identifying compliance risks and recommending appropriate responses.
- Supporting process improvement within the compliance and enforcement team.

About you
You are a detail-oriented professional with strong judgement and the ability to interpret financial information confidently. You bring regulatory compliance capability developed through applying legislation and assessing complex matters. Your investigative mindset enables you to recognise patterns, identify concerns and form evidence‑based conclusions. You are adept at documenting findings in a clear and defensible manner, and you maintain high standards of integrity when handling sensitive information. You also demonstrate confidence in engaging with stakeholders, conducting interviews and contributing to a constructive compliance culture.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of bookkeeping or accounting
- Experience in financial compliance, enforcement or investigative roles
Mandatory:
- Certificate IV in Government Investigations or Equivalent qualification or Experience in compliance and investigations
