Located in the scenic Sunshine Coast Hinterland, the Kenilworth ranger base is looking for one future permanent WOO4 Ranger to join the team and one WOO4 Ranger in a temporary compacity. Both roles will assist the Ranger in Charge and 2IC to plan and deliver the annual works program, while supervising a small team of rangers. Rangers at Kenilworth manage National Park and State Forest, these parks and forests encompass the areas favourite camping and day use areas. The Kenilworth work unit team of rangers are responsible for the day to day delivery of park management services including visitor management and regular compliance with our popular campgrounds and day use areas, natural resource management, including fire, feral animals and weed management, assets and infrastructure management and emergency response to all matter of incidents, including bush fire, storms and floods.
Staff performing ranger roles in this location are required to assist in the maintenance of long-distance walking tracks, this requires a good level of physical stamina and an ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and environmental factors. Successful applicants must value diversity and inclusivity and adapt their work and management style to work with a range of people.
The position may be required to oversee the work of external contractors, an understanding of safe work practices, procurement and financial practices will be beneficial. We are looking for the best suited person for the role, to enhance our already dedicated and energetic team of staff at this location.
