About the Role

As Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of QLeave's financial information and supporting sound financial governance across the organisation.

Working within the Finance and Investment Services team, you will contribute to statutory financial reporting, taxation compliance, investment governance reporting, financial controls and continuous improvement initiatives. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure financial information is accurate, reliable and supports effective decision-making.

This role offers a balance of technical accounting, governance, analysis and continuous improvement. It is well suited to someone who values accuracy, professional judgement and collaborative problem-solving.

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • prepare and support the delivery of accurate statutory financial statements and related disclosures
  • support taxing compliance activities, including BAS, GST, FBT and payroll tax reporting
  • maintain the integrity of the general ledger and supporting financial systems
  • provide practical accounting advice and technical expertise to support organisational decision-making
  • support investment governance, monitoring and reporting activities in accordance with Scheme investment policy statements
  • strengthen financial controls, governance and compliance across the organisation 
  • contribute to executive and Board reporting through the preparation of financial analysis and insights
  • assist with external audit activities and implementation of audit recommendations
  • identify opportunities to improve financial systems, processes and reporting practices 
  • build collaborative relationships and contribute to a responsive, trusted finance service

What We're Looking For

For this role, we are looking for someone who can:

  • apply strong technical accounting expertise and provide clear, credible advice on complex financial matters 
  • deliver accurate statutory financial reporting and navigate statutory compliance and governance requirements with sound professional judgement 
  • analyse financial information, identify what matters and translate your findings into practical recommendations 
  • build productive working relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes 
  • approach problems with curiosity, care and a focus on workable solutions 
  • identify opportunities to strengthen financial practices, systems, controls and reporting accuracy 

CPA or CA qualifications are highly regarded, or eligibility for membership.
