QLeave is seeking an experienced finance leader to lead our Finance Business Partnering function and help drive informed decision-making, performance and long-term financial sustainability across the organisation. In this hands-on leadership role, you will lead budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting activities, while providing strategic financial advice and analysis to support organisational priorities. You will lead a team of three Finance Business Partners and work closely with stakeholders to strengthen financial capability, improve financial planning and support evidence-based decision-making.

About the Role

As Principal Finance Business Partner, you will lead QLeave's Finance Business Partnering function and serve as a trusted advisor to leaders across the organisation.  Through strong stakeholder relationships, financial analysis and practical advice, you will support informed decision-making, improve organisational performance and strengthen financial capability across QLeave. Reporting to the Manager, Finance Business Partnering, you will supervise three Finance Business Partners and oversee the delivery of budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.  Working closely with stakeholders across QLeave, you will  provide clear financial advice, analysis and insights. Your contribution will help teams understand their financial performance and drivers, manage resources effectively; make informed decisions and deliver organisational priorities.

This role combines people leadership, financial management expertise and relationship-based partnering with a practical, hands-on approach. You will work alongside your team during periods of high demand or complexity, while strengthening contemporary financial practices, enhancing financial capability and delivering a responsive and valued business partnering service.

Your Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • lead, coach and develop a team of three Finance Business Partners, setting clear priorities and fostering a collaborative, accountable and service-oriented culture
  • lead budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting processes, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely and insightful financial information that supports strategic and operational decision-making.
  • provide practical financial advice, detailed analysis and modelling to support operational decisions, projects and strategic initiatives
  • ensure the integrity of financial information through active review, validation and reconciliation of underlying data
  • build financial capability by coaching and supporting stakeholders to understand financial drivers, risks, opportunities and performance outcomes.
  • partner with business leaders to identify opportunities to improve organisational performance, resource utilisation and value for money
  • prepare and contribute to high-level reports, briefs, analysis and insights for QLeave's Executive and Boards
  • identify and progress improvements to financial systems, reporting and processes, including opportunities for cost optimisation, efficiency and value creation
  • identify and manage financial risks, supporting compliance with governance frameworks, policies and relevant requirements
  • lead by example through a hands-on approach, contributing directly to deliverables and supporting the team during periods of high demand or complexity

What We're Looking For

For this role, we are looking for someone who can:

  • develop a finance business partnering team to deliver consistent, high-quality support
  • apply strong financial management experience across budgeting, forecasting, analysis and performance reporting
  • interpret financial information, undertake detailed evaluation and translate findings into clear, actionable insights
  • build productive relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders to achieve shared outcomes
  • apply relevant financial administration legislation, accounting standards and governance requirements in a practical organisational context
  • use contemporary planning, budgeting and forecasting tools and identify opportunities to strengthen systems and processes
  • balance leadership responsibilities with a hands-on contribution to team deliverables

CA, CPA or CFA qualifications will be favourably regarded. We also welcome applications from candidates who bring substantial relevant experience and demonstrated capability.
