Your role within Housing and Homelessness Services will support the department to develop and implement housing and homelessness strategies and policies to support service delivery and drive reform across the housing assistance sector.
What you will be doing:
- Provide expert advice and leadership in the delivery of financial management and funding of programs, data governance and performance management reporting across Sector Services - this will include innovation and significant cross-sector engagement, including to explore commissioning cycles and investing in outcomes.
- Develop and maintain high-level relationships within the Sector Services group and across the Housing and Homelessness Services division more broadly, other departments and peak bodies, including to provide timely authoritative advice to all management levels and senior executives, and improve interactions and integration with other areas through effective governance systems and processes.
- Lead and manage the activities of officers developing and managing work programs including data custodianship and data analytics reporting, financial management and financial modelling, and performance of programs and funded services - operating at strategic and operational levels within the organisation.
- Manage and oversee the preparation of high-quality reports, submissions, correspondence and briefs and other complex and high-level documents within required timeframes and provide advice to senior executives and the Minister.
- Provide exceptional leadership, build resilience and work collaboratively across multi-functional teams and data areas while managing uncertainty and change.
The skills you will need include being able to:
- Lead change and act on opportunities for integration across boundaries and championed innovative ideas and solutions by being future orientated in analysis, thought and action.
- Demonstrate your ability to organise resources to achieve results, build group capability and measure and monitor the performance of your team.
- Possess superior written and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain productive relationships, communicate, negotiate, influence, network and consult at all levels within Government and with external stakeholders.
- Provide high-quality advice and use analysis, experience and critical judgement to make informed decisions that are rigorously considered and supported by a clear rationale.
- Take personal responsibility to proactively address issues.

- Experience or qualifications in the fields of finance, economics or policy would be highly regarded.
