Join a team dedicated to improving housing outcomes for Queenslanders through effective management of the state's social housing portfolio.
As a Principal Program Officer within Property Management & Programs, you will contribute to the planning, delivery and performance monitoring of maintenance, refurbishment, renewal and capital upgrade programs that support thousands of social housing properties across Queensland. Your work will directly influence how housing assets are maintained, improved and renewed, helping ensure homes remain safe, functional and fit for the communities they serve.
This role offers a unique blend of strategic thinking, program management and stakeholder engagement. You will analyse portfolio performance, provide expert advice to inform asset management decisions and support the development of strategies that maximise the value and long-term sustainability of the department's housing assets. Working across complex programs and projects, you will help balance priorities relating to budget, quality, timeframes and community outcomes.
You will work closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, building productive partnerships that support program delivery and informed decision-making. The role provides opportunities to influence policy and practice, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and identify innovative approaches that strengthen portfolio performance and service delivery.
The position also offers the opportunity to further develop your leadership capability by contributing to team performance, mentoring colleagues and supporting a collaborative working environment focused on achieving results. You will be part of a team that values professional expertise, shared problem-solving and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced program, asset or property professional who enjoys working in a complex environment, translating data and analysis into practical solutions, and contributing to initiatives that make a tangible difference. The work is varied, meaningful and connected to broader government priorities for housing supply, asset sustainability and community wellbeing.
In return, you will gain exposure to large-scale portfolio management, strategic asset planning and cross-government stakeholder engagement while helping deliver outcomes that support safer, more connected communities across Queensland.
