The Advisor - Building and Horticulture Services (AO5) is based at the Queensland Cultural Centre (QCC) and oversees daily contracted services, including cleaning, horticulture, waste, hygiene, pest control, and utilities across the QCC and AQ’s property portfolio.

The role involves managing service delivery, addressing ad hoc needs, and acting as the primary contact for service issues at QCC, Fortitude Valley, and Cairns properties.

Building strong relationships with contractors, tenants, and stakeholders is essential to ensure effective communication and issue resolution.

Arts Queensland is looking for a temporary full-time Advisor - Building and Horticulture Services (AO5) to work with us at the Queensland Cultural Centre, South Brisbane.

About You:
The successful candidate will have:

  • Ability to maintain oversight, and undertake periodic reviews, of service schedules for Building (Bundled) Services and Horticulture to ensure they continue to meet the needs of the QCC, and where necessary, adjust service delivery requirements to remedy ad hoc hazards such as slipping and obstructions, impacting on the experience and safe use of the QCC
  • Identify circumstances impacting on the delivery of contracted services, such as road closures or planned works, and keep stakeholders and primary contractors informed on changes to schedules, service delivery expectations and/or service delivery requirements.
  • Undertake contract and finance-related administration including processing invoices and forms, administering recurring contract costs, and identifying financial variations.
  • Visit and regularly inspect contractor work areas, break-out spaces, and storage facilities.
  • Undertake market analysis, as requested, to investigate contract costs and service delivery alternatives to achieve lower costs and greater efficiencies for consideration by the Principal Advisor, Building and Horticulture Services and Manager, Services.

Additional Information:

  • Fixed term-temporary full-time position until 04 June 2027 with professional development opportunities.
  • Salary: $104,722 - $113,619 p.a. + 12.75% super.

Specific role requirements:

  • Experience in building & horticulture operations, contract management and finances is highly desirable.
