About the role:

As the Senior Medical Officer (SMO), provide high quality medical services with a commitment to patient safety and continuous service improvement and assists in the professional development and support of medical students and clinicians as required.

About you:

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. The incumbent is required to maintain registration with the Medical Board of Australia at all times.
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or evidence of acceptance as a trainee of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) or Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP).
  • Current Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
  • Enrolment and maintenance of ongoing Continuing Medical Education (CME) program with the appropriate bodies.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of $458,844 p.a. (L25); $386,995 p.a. (L18); $350,160 p.a. (L14) is comprised of:

  • Salary rates between $182,106 - $251,527 p.h. (L13 – L25)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading

Other benefits include:

  • Professional Development Leave - 3.6 weeks p.a.
  • Professional Development Allowance - $21,500 p.a.
  • Motor Vehicle Allowance
  • Over-time and on-call allowances
  • Attraction and Retention Incentive Allowance (Granted Private Practice arrangements)
  • Inaccessibility Incentive Allowance - $13,800 p.a.
