About us:

The Biloela Hospital is a 20-bed facility providing medical, surgical, paediatric, maternity, accident and emergency, palliative care, radiography, and pharmacy, including allied health services of speech therapy, occupational therapy, social work, physiotherapy, and dietician.

Banana Community Health is located into the hospital, providing child health, school-based youth health, cancer care, community nurse, telehealth, diabetes educator and child protection services.

Biloela Hospital also has specialist visiting services such as general surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology, ultrasound, dental, mental health, drug and alcohol, paediatrics, hearing and podiatry and women's health clinics every second month.

About the role:

The Cancer Care Clinical Nurse facilitates connectivity between rural and specialist oncology services to ensure effective care planning and access to safe, predictable cancer care within local communities, while also fulfilling a clinical leadership role as a Nurse Grade 6 (1), supporting educational and research activities and assisting higher management levels.

About you:

  • Current nursing registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Registered Nurse qualification with a minimum of three years' experience.

It is desirable that the applicant be trained and competent in:

  • to prescribe, prepare, handle and/or deliver anti-cancer therapies as outlined within the Queensland Remote Chemotherapy Supervision (QReCS) guide (2019)
  • in venepuncture and peripheral intravenous cannulation (PIVC) insertion
  • Central Venous Access Device (CVAD) certification
  • Completed all modules of eviQ Education: Antineoplastic Drug Administration Course (ADAC) (available via CQ Learn)
  • Completed all modules of eviQ Education: Immunotherapies (available on CQ Learn)
  • All mandatory training to be completed on Central Queensland CQ Learn as per matrix

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $65,949 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $54.44 - $58.30 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
