An exciting opportunity exists for a Pharmacist to provide essential services to the Biloela Hospital for 12-months!

The pharmacist will offer a complete clinical pharmacy service to Biloela Hospital's wards and clinics, as well as across the Banana region, which may require some travel. The candidate will engage in daily clinical rounds and help develop unit guidelines and procedures.

About us:

Biloela Hospital provides a range of hospital and visiting specialist services to the Biloela and Banana region. Our vision, outlined in our Destination 2030: Great Care for Central Queenslanders strategy1 is for Biloela Hospital to be the Banana hub for emergency, maternity, diagnostic and a range of surgical services. We will invest in Telehealth technology to provide local access to services wherever possible.

The Pharmacy Department at the Biloela Hospital manages all medications across the hospital, including the preparation and supply of all inpatient medication on the wards, and prescription and dispensary services for patients visiting the hospital. Services are also provided to smaller rural hospitals across the Banana region.

About the role:

The Pharmacist will provide a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to the wards and clinics at Biloela Hospital and throughout the Banana region. Some travelling will be involved.

The candidate will have the opportunity to participate in daily clinical rounds within the clinical care environment and will also be expected to contribute to the development of unit guidelines and procedures.

About you:

  • Degree in pharmacy from a recognised tertiary institution (or equivalent).
    • Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a pharmacist in Australia (or eligible for registration in Australia).
  • While not mandatory, a graduate diploma or masters qualification in an pharmacy-related field would be well regarded.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $157,359 is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $64.64 - $69.55 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
