About us:

Baralaba Multipurpose Health Service provides a patient-centred care environment, appreciating the vulnerable patient population utilising the service. The facility is 11 years old, highly functional, and spacious, most inpatient rooms have their own ensuite and each room has its own unique rural view.

The Baralaba MPHS service provides acute inpatient services for up to 4 acute patients, 4 high care residential care residents, 1 respite care/ palliative care patient and 1 community place. Residential care is currently provided to 4 permanent residents.

There is a 2-bed emergency department which provides a 24-hour emergency service; this service is complimented by the use of Telehealth support for emergency presentations. Emergency retrieval is usually via air transport from Rockhampton.

About the role:

To provide direct and indirect evidence-based patient care, under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), using contemporary nursing theory and practice within the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service (CQHHS).

A Nurse Grade 4 is an Enrolled Nurse Advanced Skill (ENAS) who supports a Registered Nurse in the provision of patient centred care as specified by registration requirements. The ENAS seeks assistance and support in decision making from a Registered Nurse.

About you:

  • Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practising certificate are mandatory for this position.
  • Demonstrates sound evidence-based clinical skills and knowledge in area of aged care and rural nursing.
  • Ability to work well in a team and adapt to change.
  • Ability to use negotiation skills to avoid conflict and work with others.
  • Ability to communicate respectfully and thoughtfully with other staff, patients and carers.

What we offer:

Total remuneration value of up to $94,242 is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $39.25 - $41.65 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
