This position offers the opportunity to work as a Caseload Clinical Midwife, with flexible hours, on-call responsibilities, and an annualised salary arrangement. In this role, you will provide person-centred, advanced-level nursing care while practicing autonomously and demonstrating leadership in clinical decision-making to ensure the best outcomes for families.

About us:

Biloela Hospital provides a range of hospital and visiting specialist services to the Biloela and Banana region. The unit is a Maternity and Midwifery Group Practice model. Our Maternity service provides woman centred care, reflecting the needs of each woman within a safe and sustainable quality system. All women have access to evidenced based, culturally competent maternity care in a range of settings close to where they live. Appropriately trained and qualified maternity health professionals provide continuous or shared maternity care to women who meet the service capability of the Biloela and Banana areas.

About the role:

The Clinical Midwives role is to lead and deliver person centred nursing care at an advanced level based on the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia Registered Nurse Standards for Practice. The Clinical Midwife is expected to be able to practice autonomously and provide leadership in clinical decision making. They have the responsibility for professional leadership in the absence of the Nurse Grade 7 and an opportunity to work collaboratively to lead practice changes and clinical innovation.

About you:

  • Appointment to this position requires current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Midwife.
    • Appointees will be required to work under the Caseload Midwifery Industrial Agreement which includes working variable hours and on call for annualised salary arrangement which includes 35% loading and 6 weeks recreation leave.
  • While not mandatory, the working towards or completion of a post-graduate qualification in the area of specialty would be well regarded.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of contemporary midwifery practice and theory.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $156,065 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $54.44 - $58.30 p.h. (Plus additional 35% caseload allowance)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
