About the role
Temporary part time opportunity to work in partnership with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander families, to provide expert child health clinical knowledge and care for woman, children and families receiving care under the Ngarrama Midwifery Group Practice.
This role will work closely with the interprofessional Ngarrama team and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Hubs teams, which include midwives, nurses, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Health Workers and Allied Health professionals. In addition, this role will provide support and direction to the Registered Nurse/Midwife and other non-registered nursing personnel in more complex situations related to child health.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses, and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) (2015) - Generic Level Statements (GLS) Nurse Grade 6 Band 1 and the Queensland Health and Metro North Health's commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
- Support change management principles by providing culturally sensitive support, guidance, mentoring, preceptorship, role modelling and promoting cooperation and collaborative teamwork.
- Apply advanced clinical nursing expertise, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to deliver a high standard of family centred care.
