About you:

In your new role you will…

  • Possess an ability to provide a competent level of experience, knowledge, expertise and skill in polysomnography and ventilation therapies including, but not limited to, set-up of Polysomnography, performing clinical tasks, mask fitting, observing Polysomnography overnight, and determining optimal therapeutic Continuous Positive Airways Pressures (CPAP).
  • Demonstrate an ability to work independently and accurately to apply established methods and procedures in completing routine polysomnographic and ventilation therapy tasks including the ability to complete more complex tasks under the guidance of more experienced practitioners.
  • Demonstrate communication skills including the ability to liaise with patients and their families, other health professionals, supervisors, students and researchers, in an effective and professional manner. Experience in a cross-cultural setting is advantageous.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will independently perform a routine level of clinical polysomnographic and mechanical ventilatory support tasks within the Sleep Disorders Centre and in accordance with prescribed professional guidelines and ethical standards.

About your role:

  • Perform overnight routine polysomnography and mechanical ventilatory therapy support tasks at a consistently high technical standard acquiring quality data in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards within well-established clinical guidelines and protocols ensuring best practice principles.
  • Develop the competence and experience to undertake more complex polysomnographic and mechanical ventilatory support tasks.
  • Apply good communication skills to work co-operatively and effectively in a professional manner with team members, patients and their families during sleep investigations and ensure efficient and effective output of service.
