The Cairns and Hinterland Mental Health and Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Service is responsible for delivering Mental Health and Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Services throughout the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service while supporting other Mental Health and Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Services in the Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service. Its primary objective is to ensure access to a comprehensive range of treatment and support services, clinical treatment, rehabilitation, disability support, as well as early intervention, and mental health prevention and promotion. You are invited to join a dynamic team with the Clinical Governance unit as an Administration Officer.

Cairns and Hinterland Mental Health and Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drugs Service provide a range of innovative services, staffed by multidisciplinary teams with a broad mix of skills, knowledge, and professional backgrounds. These currently include Community Services, Specialised Services, Acute and Sub-Acute Bed Based Services, Access Services and Rural Remote and Indigenous Services.

About you:

In your new role you will…

  • Demonstrate ability to provide high quality, prompt, efficient and personalised service to clients in a culturally appropriate manner through various communication mediums.
  • Demonstrate skills in relevant applications such as CIMHA, HBCIS, The Viewer, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of, the roles and processes involved in the delivery of Mental Health and ATODS services.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, establish work priorities, meet deadlines, proactively identify and negotiate effective outcomes in a high profile, fast paced department.

About your opportunity:

In this position you will carry out a range of administrative duties that support the work of the Mental Health and Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drugs Service (MHATODS). The successful applicant will provide a high level of administrative, and systems support associated with Consumer Integrated Mental Health and Addiction application (CIMHA) to meet Health Service and State objectives.

About your role:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the typing, document preparation, data entry and the use of computerised software packages (e.g., CIMHA, HBCIS, IEMR, The Viewer, MHAP, QHEPS, Microsoft Office Suite, UMS, MediRecords, S4HANA, and MyHR) and ability to rapidly acquire skills in the application of computerised resource and patient management.
  • Provide systems support, administration, and maintenance to CIMHA and proactively identify and resolve issues in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Ensure data validations generated by Data Services Unit for the National Minimum Data Set, Community Mental Health Establishments and National Outcomes and Case-mix Collections are processed and corrections are returned within the required timeframe.
