Become a part of an exciting opportunity as a Dietitian Assistant (Clinical) with the Nutrition and Dietetics Department. In this role you will play an essential role in ensuring patients have access to optimal nutrition through involvement in menu preparation and completion, management of nutrition support products, and in working closely with the dietitians in patient screening and implementation of nutrition care plans.

About your role:
- Demonstrate a sound understanding of basic nutrition principles and diet-disease relationships in guiding patients with menu choices that optimise nutritional care.
- Collate specialised meal orders under the direction of a dietitian.
- Provide accurate, specific and relevant feedback to dietitians about patient progress with nutrition care plans, including feedback on consumption of supplements and malnutrition risk factors, in a timely manner and in accordance with agreed procedures.
- Utilise high level interpersonal and communication skills and a range of media to liaise with patients and staff, including the provision of education on meal ordering processes.
- Communicate with patients, carers effectively, with cultural sensitivity and confidentially.
- Actively contribute to a multidisciplinary team through departmental and team meetings and other team projects and activities
- Provide support, mentoring, supervision and training to less experienced allied health assistants including teaching and assessment of generic competencies.
