About your opportunity:

The Senior Human Resource Consultant (SHRC) provides quality advice and delivers HR and people management solutions to key Divisional leaders to facilitate organisational success. To achieve this, the SHRC works closely with People and Culture (P and C) specialist Directorate teams, to maximise the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service's human capital and achieve its required business. The role reports to the HR Manager who coordinates the development and implementation of the teams HR solutions in line with organisational priorities and risks.

About your role: 

  • Utilise highly developed interpersonal communication, business acumen, consulting and negotiation skills with the proven capacity to provide authoritative, professional and ethical advice to build and maintain appropriate and professionally credible relationships at senior levels.
  • Use workforce data, analysis, problem solving and evaluation skills to inform business risk identification and decision making and to develop and implement innovative service delivery solutions that support the achievement of both business and organisational outcomes.
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of employment legislation, awards and agreements, policies and best practice to identify and resolve complex workforce issues in a consistent manner in line with requirements.
  • Identify, analyse and review emerging issues and trends in liaison with specialist P and C team managers relating to people, culture and organisational capability promoting awareness across the health service.
  • Research, and interpret causation issues providing quality, contemporary and ethical HR advice and recommendations to people leaders on key workforce challenges which support achievement of both the client's and organisation's objectives, and compliance with industrial provisions.
