About us: The outer western region of our service includes extremely remote communities. Cairns Hospital is the only major referral hospital in Far North Queensland and also provides care for people from Cape York and the Torres Strait.

About you:

In your new role you will: 

  • Provide effective and efficient leadership and management of the Birth Suite and Maternity Assessment Centre in collaboration with the Midwifery and Nursing Director, Maternity Nurse/Midwife Unit Manager, Midwife Unit Manager MGP and Birth Centre, clinical and non-clinical staff to facilitate the provision of quality evidence based care.
  • Work collaboratively with peers and others to create a positive practice environment that achieves best practice outcomes.
  • Accountable for outcomes and achievement of service performance targets.
