The role will also have a professional reporting line to a Director of Psychology for professional oversight. This role has no financial or human resource delegations in accordance with MNH Financial Sub-Delegations Manual and MNH Human Resource Sub-Delegations Manual.

About us: Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers an area of 142,900 square kilometres. We go as far as Tully in the south, Cow Bay in the north and Croydon in the west.

About your role:

  • Apply advanced and highly specialised knowledge of physical, neurological, psychiatric, developmental, cognitive, and sensory disabilities for patients with complex and challenging behaviours, including use of evidence-based management principles.
  • Work collaboratively in an interprofessional model through application of advanced communication skills with other members of the BERT.
  • Lead service improvements to enhance clinical outcomes including interprofessional clinical research and knowledge translation projects.
