Senior Medical Officer (Rural Generalist with Advanced Skills Training), Rural & Remote Service - ATHERTON

Provide high quality clinical care to hospital in-patients and patients at rural clinics. Assist the Director Medical Services, Atherton Hospital in the development of safe medical practice and optimising clinical skills for medical and nursing staff. The Senior Medical Officer reports to the Director Medical Services, Atherton Hospital. Junior Medical Staff, although reporting to the Director Medical Services, also reports on clinical matters to the Senior Medical Officer who may be supervising the area in which the junior staff are working.

Purpose of the Role
Working at the Atherton Hospital within rural health services across the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service, you will contribute as a dynamic Rural Generalist providing high-quality clinical care to hospital in-patients and patients at rural clinics. You will assist the Director of Medical Services, Atherton Hospital in the development of safe medical practice and optimising clinical skills for medical and nursing staff.
Your Opportunity
You will provide a high standard of care for patients and their families, contributing to improving the health of the local population.
Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) evidence as required for your employment in accordance with legislation/government policy and Directives.
