An exciting opportunity currently exists for you to join the Mareeba Community Health team as a Clinical Nurse (Child Health). You will work within the Child Health Unit which is comprised of Child Health Clinical Nurses in Atherton and Mareeba, School Based Health Youth Nurses and Child Protection liaison staff. Services from the Tablelands Child Health Unit are provided in the client’s own home, clinics, schools and other community venues.

About your role:

  • Assist the Nurse Unit Manager to implement and monitor the organisation's quality standards, work health and safety policies, procedures and programs and provide clinical governance in the relevant work area.
  • The provision of a Healthy and Safe environment within Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service is everyone's responsibility.
  • Provide effective and efficient clinical care in the area of Child Health and work in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager to ensure the maintenance of safe standards in patient care.
  • Effectively manage self and work with the Nurse Unit Manager/Clinical Nurse Educator to meet unit nursing staff development needs.
