About us: The outer western region of our service includes extremely remote communities. Cairns Hospital is the only major referral hospital in Far North Queensland and also provides care for people from Cape York and the Torres Strait.
About your role:
- Encourage patient and family participation in decision making with regards to discharge planning or transfer while monitoring this process through compliments, complaints and patient satisfaction surveys.
- Within the Patient Flow Unit, implement agreed strategies when patient flow KPI's are not on target
- Continue to review processes to improve efficiencies, patient care, service delivery, patient outcomes and patient satisfaction.
- Demonstrates sound knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and theory and assists with review and makes recommendations on bed modelling as required.
- Assist with the development of an annual bed management strategy, including a provision for seasonal variations.
