About us: The outer western region of our service includes extremely remote communities. Cairns Hospital is the only major referral hospital in Far North Queensland and also provides care for people from Cape York and the Torres Strait.

About your role:

  • Manage, deliver, and coordinate the facilitation of CHHHS mandatory Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Practice Program training, including regular review and updating of the suite of program resources based on priority health need indicators of the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service.
  • Design, develop, deliver, implement, and evaluate contemporary expansive cultural responsiveness educational programs and initiatives.
  • Liaise with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Consultative Committee and First Peoples Health Equity Council to co-design and endorse CHHHS culturally responsive educational content that is representative of the healthcare needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients, families, and carers.
