Join Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service as a Communications Officer with a focus on events and internal communications. You will be based in Cairns. You will be highly organised and have excellent interpersonal skills to assist the team to deliver a range of communications and engagement activities including: events management and online and digital communications. You will also support media liaison, promotions, and community engagement activities. We're looking for a strong communicator with experience in communications and events management, ideally in the public service. Proficiency is needed in the Microsoft Office suite applications including Teams. Experience in email marketing software and social media scheduling software would be well regarded.

About you:

In your new role you will;

  • Undertake internal communications activities including staff bulletins and producing staff newsletters.
  • Assist with running internal events including five annual staff awards programs, staff recognition events and executive team visits to facilities.
  • Record media activities and contribute to measurement and analysis of communications outcomes.
  • Work in partnership with other areas of the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital Health Service to achieve corporate communication objectives and consistency of messaging.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Director and team as well as other tasks as required.
