You are invited to join a dynamic team with the Maternity Unit as Clinical Midwife (Extend Midwifery Service). In this role as an Extended Midwifery Service (EMS) Clinical Midwife is required to deliver direct midwifery care at an advanced level, within the specific area of postnatal community midwifery expertise whilst providing support and education to other team members in this service within the Maternity Unit at Cairns Hospital.

About your role:

• Providing woman-centred, family-oriented evidence-based and contemporary postnatal care to women and their neonates.
• Maintain sound knowledge of relevant legislation, guidelines and standards specifically relating to midwifery practice and ensure safe, appropriate application of same.
• Effectively communicate at all levels across the organisation to promote effective team functioning.
• Implement and monitor the organisation's quality standards, work health and safety policies, procedures and programs and provide clinical governance in the relevant work area.
