About us: The outer western region of our service includes extremely remote communities. Cairns Hospital is the only major referral hospital in Far North Queensland and also provides care for people from Cape York and the Torres Strait.
About your role:
- Apply professional judgement to a complex and varied caseload, and independently assess, diagnose and manage swallow and communication impairments, adapting routine clinical practice where necessary to establish a flexible and client-centred service delivery.
- Actively participate in initiating, developing, implementing and evaluating quality and service improvement activities.
- Work cooperatively, effectively and assist the Team Leader Allied Health and the Director of Speech Pathology & Audiology to promote optimal service provision and outcomes including assisting and contributing to effective administration and management of resources.
- Manage daily organisation of the workload of the Speech Pathology Service Cassowary Hub in the most appropriate manner using planning, time management skills and prioritisation.
