The purpose of the Assistant Project Officer role is to contribute to the delivery of improved patient access in accordance with the strategic direction of the Department. The successful candidate will prioritise and provide all administrative coordination within the Healthcare Improvement Unit, activities including diary and email management, meeting, equipment, function and travel organisation.

Examine incoming correspondence, papers, and reports to determine necessary action and prioritise tasks. Prepare replies for consideration as appropriate. Additionally, liaise, consult, and maintain effective relationships with team members and both internal and external stakeholders.

Reporting/work relationships

The position reports to Manager, Healthcare Improvement Unit

The number of direct reports is Nil.

Mandatory qualifications, registrations and other requirements: Nil.

While not mandatory relevant experience in the Microsoft suite of applications (including MS Teams), EDRMS or similar systems would be well regarded.

Role fit.

The essential requirements for this role are:

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and oral skills, incorporating the ability to liaise effectively with officers of all levels, multi-disciplinary workforce, external agencies and members of the public.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills with an ability to self-motivate, work effectively and collaboratively within a team environment and deliver work of high quality, validity and accuracy to achieve team outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and utilise discretion in the absence of decision makers, meet deadlines and establish work priorities to maximise efficiency, work output and the changing needs within the team.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of computerised information management systems and contemporary software packages which assist in the provision of administrative support services and functions.
  • Demonstrated administrative support skills and experience of a high standard including knowledge or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of the information systems relevant to the business.
