What you'll do
As the Senior Project Officer, you will collaborate with stakeholders from across Queensland Health, and non-government, private and intergovernmental agencies. Key responsibilities will encompass supporting suicide prevention projects including data analysis, documentation, effective governance and fostering strong relationships. This role plays an important part in supporting the successful implementation of Queensland Health's suicide prevention initiatives and the broader priorities of Better Care Together: a plan for Queensland's state-funded mental health alcohol and other drug services to 2027. About you
The successful applicant will have strong writing skills, be experienced at supporting and undertaking projects, and preparing policy or planning materials for a range of audiences. Your communication skills will be exceptional, and you will have a demonstrated ability to negotiate with, and influence, stakeholders to achieve high-quality outcomes. You will have a proven track record in analysing and interpreting data and translating it into well-informed health planning, policy or strategy.
We are searching for someone who has:
- Demonstrated experience in the management and support of projects, preferably in a social and/or health policy environment and desirably with a mental health alcohol and other drugs and suicide prevention focus.
- Proven track record in critically analysing and interpreting data and information to underpin planning, policy and strategy development in health and other intersecting portfolios.
- Proven ability to develop high quality written materials and the ability to communicate and negotiate clearly, accurately, and confidently with various stakeholders.
- Knowledge, or demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of mental health, alcohol and other drugs issues and priorities at a national and state level.
