The Woorabinda multi-purpose health service (MPHS) provides first line, health care for the people of Woorabinda and the surrounding rural population. The Woorabinda MPHS is made up of over 60 medical, nursing, allied health, operational and administrative staff.

The town of Woorabinda is situated on the traditional lands of the Wadja Wadja Aboriginal people and is a designated Aboriginal Shire Council Community located in Central Queensland, 175 km south-west of Rockhampton.

About us:

The Woorabinda Multi-Purpose Health Service (MPHS) provides first line, health care for the people of Woorabinda and surrounding rural population, incorporating:

  • 24-hour A&E Care
  • Hospital Inpatient Care
  • Residential Aged Care
  • Community: Home Support Services/Maternal and Child Health Services/Public Health Services (including school health services)/Alcohol and Drug and Mental Health Services and Chronic Disease Services (including Renal Dialysis)

The service also supports a range of General and selected Specialist Outpatient and Allied Health services, including Pharmacy and visiting Dental services.

About the role:

The Enrolled Nurse (EN) supports a Registered Nurse/Registered Midwife (RN/RM) in the provision of person-centred care as specified by registration requirements, Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia (NMBA) standards and codes, educational preparation, relevant legislation, and context of care.

This incorporates nursing care of community and residential aged care clients. It also incorporates in this rural/remote setting the support of inpatient and emergency care.

About you:

To be successful in obtaining the position, you must have the following:

  • Current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a current annual practicing certificate.
  • While not mandatory, further qualification or evidence of further learning relating to Rural and Remote Nursing and Aged Care would be well regarded.

Salary information:

Total remuneration value of up to $86,259 p.a. is comprised of:

  • An hourly rate between $35.92 - $38.12 p.h.
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
  • 17.5% leave loading
