Gemfields Primary Health Care Clinic is seeking a casual Enrolled Nurse to join their close knit, supportive team. In this role, you’ll work closely with a Registered Nurse or Midwife to deliver compassionate, person-centred care that aligns with NMBA standards and legislation.

You’ll provide both direct and indirect, evidence-based care, drawing on modern nursing practices. About us:

Gemfields Primary Care clinic is based in Sapphire Gemfields area, 64 km from Emerald. The Primary Care Clinic operates 5 days per week servicing a diverse population with high level of chronic disease across the townships of Sapphire, Rubyvale, Anakie, and Willows. The resident population is approximately 2000, which increases significantly throughout the winter months.

The clinic is operated by the Nurse Unit Manager, an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse 5days per week and Medical Officer 3 days per week. Queensland Ambulance Services are located on a fulltime basis in Sapphire. The Gemfields is classified as remote and is a designated Remote Area Incentive Nursing Package (RANIP) site.

About the role:

  • Recognise and respond appropriately, and report sudden alterations, in the patient's condition resulting in the Enrolled Nurse's (EN) workload changes, in a timely manner to the Registered Nurse / Midwife.
  • Accountable of Enrolled Nurse Professional Standards as per Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia and supervision of unregulated Health Care Workers.
  • Practice collaboratively with the interdisciplinary health care team to promote safety, mitigate risk, and promote the consumer and carer engagement in decision making and identification of processes for escalation of concerns.

About you:

  • Current registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is mandatory for this position.
  • While not mandatory, experience in Emergency Department, Aged Care, complex wound management and phlebotomy is highly desirable.

What we offer:

  • An hourly rate between $44.18 - $46.89 p.h. (Including 25% casual loading)
  • 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
